As a former pitcher for the Minnesota Twins. Our President and CEO Ryan Mills was first round draft pick selected 6th overall in the 1998 MLB draft. Ryan pitched for the Twins organization from 1998-2004.
In high school Ryan was rated the #1 left handed pitching prospect for the 1995 MLB draft. He was drafted by the New York Yankees but turned down a $535,000 signing bonus to honor his letter of intent to play college baseball at Arizona State University.
At Arizona State University Ryan got the 3rd start as a freshman. His first game he was struck in the face by a line drive. He had my jaw wired shut and missed the entire season. He came back his sophomore year as the ace of the staff and lead the PAC 10 conference in ERA.
Ryan’s junior season he pitched ASU to the College World Series and started the National Championship game in front of 26,000 people. From there he started his pro career with the Minnesota Twins and played with veterans such as Brad Radke, Eric Milton, Terry Steinbach , Rick Aguilera and up and coming players such as Michael Cuddyer, Tori Hunter, Justin Morneau, David Ortiz and Johan Santana.
After his career in Major League Baseball he pursued his dream of coaching and teaching players at all levels to become the best possible pitcher they can become. His style of teaching has transformed the industry and Pitching.com is still the leader in the industry. The team at Pitching.com has since helped thousands of pitching from little league to the show produce better results safely and effectively.
My dad and I started working on my pitching mechanics at the age of 12 and really got serious about it at the age of 16. So my experience is not only in working with other pitchers but I had the experience of working on my own mechanics as well. As a result of this experience I became passionate about understanding the way the pitching delivery works. With all those years of experience, I now am able to help pitchers of all ages reach their full potential.
I was high velocity pitcher so I know what it feels like to throw in the mid to high nineties. But I also understand why I was able to do that. My mission is to help pitchers reach their potential, whatever that may be.
