Momentum Pitching Mechanics - How To Boost Velocity With Just One Session

Here is a video the demonstrates the pitching mechanics used in Momentum Pitching to produce more velocity,  better control while reducing the stress to the arm.

The key to Momentum Pitching is using a step back to build more distance and momentum which will help at landing to send more forces from the lower body to the trunk which finally whips the arm through.

There are actually two styles of Momentum Pitching. One uses a leg lift and the other does not.   In this video the pitcher is not using a leg lift which allows the body to move faster toward the hitter.  This is one of the reasons why hitters do not like facing Tim Lincecum because he moves down the mound faster than any other major league pitcher.

Another key to Momentum Pitching is to get the body sideways as soon as the support foot gets pivoted and the lead hip passes the rubber.  This insures a good sideways movement so that the pitcher can direct his lower body and front shoulder right at the target while staying closed longer.

Momentum Pitching also produces a stride that is usually longer than the pitcher's height but not too long where he is not able to get his head and chest out over his landing knee at ball release.

But remember this... there are no secrets to pitching improvement. Just sound sports science principles that we apply to pitching that just make common sense. No magic spoken here.

A video analysis is your best insurance policy against poor instruction, guaranteed improvement and added arm insurance against injury.  http://www.pitching.com/video_analysis/

Our Explosively Pitching DVD program teaches parents how to help their sons use their bodies to pitch instead of just their arms. Not only does this improve velocity but reduces the risk of arm injuries.  We also teach them proper conditioning.

One last thing about Momentum Pitching. It is simple to teach and will get most pitchers throwing harder within one session.

"I had spent several hundred dollars on a pitching coach who was leading my son down the path to ruin. He embraced every failed philosophy and technique you've identified - long toss, towel drills and more drills ad nauseum. My son's skills were deteriorating. When I found your website and read your report, I sense intuitively your words had merit and deserved further study."   Mark Smith, Downers Grove,IL
