The Pitching Rebel

Scottsdale, AZ - From Dick Mills - former Red Sox pitcher

Dear Valued Clients and Pitching Insiders,

There are many things that can RUIN your son’s chances of reaching his full God-given pitching potential, but three of the biggest reasons are:

  1. Listening to misinformed or misguided instructors who do not videotape and take advantage of all the benefits video analysis has to offer... Or have coaches use video analysis incorrectly, which can be just as damaging, because they know just enough to be dangerous...

  2. You as your son’s coach not recognizing mechanical faults that reduce velocity and control which can lead to a serious arm injury...

  3. Wasting time on practice activities that do not contribute to improved performance such as long toss, flat ground throwing, towel drills or thinking that adding strength is the key to velocity. (a new study, done Jan. 2011 by the American Sports Medicine Institute, proves that long toss does NOT improve velocity, increases elbow and shoulder stress and disrupts pitching mechanics.)

  4. Over-coaching...giving pitchers too much, giving them the wrong feedback, or correcting problems that do not need correcting

Your son can live up to his full potential, but only once I give you all the secrets I use to methodically dig deep and easily find all the mechanical faults that kill pitching potential. But even more importantly...you will learn what is causing the fault in the first place and how to fix it on the spot.

Thousands of young pitchers are ruining their pitching careers right now simply because their instructors and coaches are not implementing evidence based mechanical principles that must be followed in order to help pitchers improve.

Many instructors, even former professionals and pitching gurus, are giving out dangerous pitching advice about pitching mechanics that that WILL ruin your son's velocity, his control, and his ability to reach his full God-given pitching potential. Or worse ruin his arm. So don't listen to instructors who don't videotape or you'll loose the most valuable gift ever, your son's ability to reach his potential AND stay healthy.

Why I Once Got A Second Opinion About
My Son Ryan’s Mechanics

Are you totally confident of your ability to find which problems are preventing your son from throwing much harder and with better control? Or what is causing his sore arm? I can tell you this...you cannot afford to miss finding and fixing the correct mechanical faults.

Even as an experienced pitching instructor with over 20 years experience, I knew I could be blinded by thinking I knew it all, and that it was best to have other qualified people take a look at my son Ryan's mechanics. That’s why I once got a second opinion when he was in high school. But not just from anybody. I went to the best. An instructor whom I knew had studied high speed film under biomechanist Dr. Glenn Fleisig at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.

Dr. Fleisig taught me so much about the power of properly done video analysis. Even as a former six year pro and major league pitcher... I realized I did not really understand mechanics and those hidden faults that kill velocity until I saw it with my own eyes, with the video slowed down going frame-by-frame.

Using video analysis we found some faults in Ryan's delivery, that when corrected helped get Ryan from 86 mph as a high school junior, to 93 mph as a senior. And when 43 major league scouts showed up at Ryan's first game all armed with radar guns...I knew it had all paid off, and video analysis had gotten him there. That extra velocity helped elevate Ryan to be named the top high school left-handed pitcher in the country in 1995, according to Baseball America magazine.

It also got Ryan a scholarship to Arizona State where he became their #3 starter as a freshman. As a junior he pitched the final game of the 1998 College World Series, and later became the sixth pick in the draft with the Twins 1st round selection.

Each one of these incredible moments in my son's pitching career confirmed what I realized after spending time with Dr. Fleisig back when my son was in highschool, that you can't put a price on the power of video analysis and all that it had done to help my son.

Today I am not very confident I could find an instructor whom I would feel totally confident listening to. Many still believe in long toss, pitching drills and are not keeping up with the latest sports science research. Many don't use video analysis, and for those that do, they often do so incorrectly, which is just as bad.

Finding a mechanical fault is easy, but knowing the cause and effect is the key to long term success. What's the root cause? Even when you understand the cause you must still understand how to fix those mechanical faults without disrupting the entire delivery. That’s where I come in to help you. Well not just me, but my son Ryan too...

How A Former Major League Pitcher And Triple A Pitcher Can Help YOU!

Before I tell you about how this product can forever change the pitching career of your son, I'd like to let you know what happened to Ryan.

Now, there's a unique advantage of working with a former Triple A pitcher like my son Ryan.

Ryan now understands two things.

First, how as a tall, skinny college pitcher he was able to throw a 96 mph fastball.

And on the other hand he learned a very tough lesson... why as a top pro prospect he ended up with a shoulder injury that ended his career, and how his experience can help your son avoid the same fate.

If his coaches were watching video back then he more than likely would still be pitching and probably at the major league level.

Ryan started helping me with one-on-one lessons in January 2006. He spent three years learning my system before he did his first video analysis in early 2009. That prepared him well for what he is doing now. You will see his excellent work on these DVD's and keep in mind, whenever Ryan is doing a video analysis he wants his students to understand two things.

How to maximize their velocity and, maybe more importantly, how to avoid serious arm injury.

When Ryan and I do pitching lessons, every session is videotaped and every student gets a video analysis where they are compared side-by-side to a top major league pitcher like Red Sox Daniel Bard who throws an easy 96-100 mph or Royals Cy Young award winner Zach Greinke who also hits 96-98 mph.

And we explain exactly how they do it.

Nothing gets a students attention better than having a former MLB pitcher like myself or a former Triple A pitcher like Ryan explain how they can improve by being compared to an MLB pitcher who can throw 95 mph plus.

They quickly learn exactly what it takes and how they can use that to improve their own velocity.

Velocity Killers Exist In Every Pitcher's Delivery -
Why You Must Find And Fix Them NOW

We have identified over two dozen mechanical faults that prevent most pitchers from maximizing their pitching velocity. Without finding these hidden faults most pitchers will never reach their velocity potential and many will get injured because of this.

The key to improving pitching velocity is to fully understand that it has little to do with improving strength, whether it's arm strength or building more strength in the weight room.

New research has proven that it is the body that produces the energy that drives arm speed...rather than arm strength being a factor. As Giants' Tim Lincecum has repeatedly said - 'my body does the work while my arm is along for the ride.'

Red Sox flame-thrower Daniel Bard who regularly touches 100 mph with his fastball, says that the key for him is the back leg. You will see exactly what we mean by showing you Daniel Bard's back leg action right next to a high school or college pitcher. Not only will you see what prevents gaining maximum leg drive, but you'll also learn exactly how to fix it.

You'll also learn all the timing faults within most pitcher's deliveries that cause them to try to gain velocity by getting the arm involved too early. We'll even show you how to throw later in the delivery like Tim Lincecum.

These velocity timing killers are rarely addressed by most instructors. We believe they are one of the key factors that every pitcher must understand if they want that extra 5-7 mph that can jump their fastball from mediocre to over-powering.

Pitchers who want to improve their velocity but don't have the benefit of a coach (or parent) who uses video analysis is just like "taking a knife to a gun fight" and expecting a good result.

Without video analysis pitchers and coaches can only guess what the results will be. This is why these DVD's are like buying success insurance for pitchers. They learn how to boost performance with far less risk of injury.

Our New High Velocity Pitcher Video-Analysis
DVD’s Show You Exactly What We Do

High Speed Video Analysis

Talk is cheap. As I always say...show me.

So what we have done is taken actual side-by-side voice over video analysis of some of our students so you see exactly how we do our own video analysis.

In addition you'll see how we help pitchers who come to our facility for one-on-one lessons from all over the country so that when they go home they know exactly what to do, spelled out in an easy to follow step-by-step format, and then how to continue making the needed changes to improve their mechanics...

They can then start throwing harder with better control and less stress to their arm, AND stop over-thinking.

Why Watching Videos Of Other Pitchers Is So Valuable

I'd like to ask you, "would watching a single video analysis or a highlight video of an actual lesson be valuable to you helping your son or your pitching staff get on the right track...once and for all?"

Well, yes, of course it would. Then how about having 16 real-life lessons at your disposal? That would most definitely help you, your son, or your pitching staff achieve their goals.

Sports science research has proven that watching others perform, even if who they are watching does not perform perfectly, can provide a better and clearer understanding of fundamentals which helps the learner get a better grasp of what they need to do to improve.

In other words it can finally help “the lights turn on” for the observer... the pitcher wanting to improve.

Plus for many, once they see that others also have mechanical faults, they don’t feel alone anymore and are motivated knowing that others had similar problems, and with the right knowledge and techniques, were able to overcome these problems, and IMPROVE their pitching.

Here is what a father recently said after his younger son reviewed the video analysis of his older brother:

“Dick...Just letting you know that my middle son, the lefty, just got offered full tuition athletic scholarship at a D1 school. (31K a year). In June he was clocked at 79-81 at a perfect game tournament.

Since then has been working out with your program and reviewing his brother' Dans' evaluation by Ryan. He jumped his velocity to 88-89, with a wicked hammer (curveball), and change-up. Needless to say it was you, Ryan and hard work on our mound in the driveway.”

Paul Morris
Matawan, New Jersey

Did you get that?

His younger son learned what he had to do to improve just by watching the video analysis of his older brother and his velocity improved nearly 10 mph.

And now his father doesn’t have to fork over $31K/year for college... thanks to watching a 15 minute highlight video by my son Ryan.

Here is what two fathers had to say after coming this summer for one-on-one instruction:

“Dick...this visit was all I hoped it would be for Steve... him too, and he is really amped up now about moving forward from here. He even impressed ME with the way he was so open to the suggested changes, exercises and all, and now says he can't even visualize anymore how he was throwing before we came.”

John Nitkowski
Houston, TX

“Dick...your work on pitching mechanics is the best because you have a scientific approach. You have been able to identify the faults in mechanics and offer specific solutions to correct the problem. This makes your coaching unique and valid in the never ending quest for improvement. See you next year.”

Dr. John Limanowski

Maybe Your Son Won’t Listen To You...
But I Bet He Would Listen To My Son Ryan and I

Do you know why many of our clients do a video analysis or come all the way across the country for one-on-one lessons...besides wanting to help their son’s improve? Because sometimes their son won’t listen to them about their mechanics. But guess who they listen to? Me and Ryan.

Do you know why they listen?

Kids who want to succeed as pitchers, many of whom dream of a pro career, seem to relate better to instructors who have played at the professional level...you know, been there and done that.

But in our case, not only do we relate as former pro pitchers, but we also are able to simplify pitching mechanics. Unlike other instructors we are able to apply sports science movement principles, and teach it in a way that actually makes sense, even to kids.

Because of our extensive experience doing video analysis, as well as both of our experiences at the major league level, we're able to provide information you can't get other places, and keep it simple enough for everyone to understand.

Plus the other dynamic at work is kids and their parents get to watch my son Ryan and I work together as a team. So that when they go home it ends up having a positive effect on the father son relationship. The issues can just go away because the focus in on the video...not on the criticism of the player.

The camera becomes the coach...not the parent.

We Take Pitching Principles Based on Science,
and Make Them Simple To Understand, So You BOTH Get It

You will probably never hear or see pitching instruction explained in clearer or simpler terms than you will hear from me and Ryan. You will see how we take principles based on complicated science, and break it down for you so it's clear, easy to understand, and simple to follow.

How much could your son improve by next spring if you, using what we teach, could recognize every common pitching fault and then how to make the needed adjustment...and felt absolutely confident you could do it?

Improve Your Son’s Pitching Velocity And Control
By Finding His Hidden Faults... Before It’s Too Late

Imagine how much you will quickly learn by watching 16 short 25 minute side-by-side videos, with voice over from me and Ryan, of client pitchers who we compare to top big leaguers so you and your son can finally get on the same page about what he needs to do to improve. This is video learning at its best.

What could be more valuable?

Watch just ONE lesson a day and see how quickly your pitching knowledge and your confidence helping your son simply skyrockets. And then see how quickly he improves. And how much better you both will be able to communicate about his pitching.

One of the great things about watching our DVD's together is now you and your son will be on the same page, and can work together to improve his pitching prospects.

Plus you will be seeing reality. We did not pick out the very best pitchers with the least amount of problems.

That's not real, and not as helpful as seeing problems and how to fix them.

We want you to see all the problems we encounter and how in every case you will learn the root cause of the problem, and the affect it has on the pitcher. Then watch as we show you how to fix it.

The best way to learn anything is to watch experts at work. Dick and Ryan Mills allow me to see how they analyze pitchers and the mistakes they detect. Knowing what to look for is always the first step to improvement and reducing the risk of injury. Outstanding DVD's. Please make more.”

Prudent practice with video feedback is the real key to improvement.

How much time and money have you wasted on professional pitching instruction, or maybe innocently over-coaching your son, or even possibly giving him advice he didn’t quite understand?

Now he can listen to Ryan and I about what really reduces pitching velocity.

And no, it's not arm strength...

You know that 16 pitching lessons will cost you at least $800 or more, and in most cases there is no videotape for feedback. Instead you get robotic pitching drills such as the towel drill, kneeling drill or balance drill... which are all a waste of time and money.

Excellent tool for learning. Slow motion, frame-by-frame and highlighting each fault is the key. This allows for exact understanding and where corrections are needed.”

Here Are Just A Few Examples
Of What You'll See In
The High Velocity Pitcher Video-Analysis Series

You will see a 6'4" 225 RH 6 year professional who has been on the 40 man roster of a big league club and throws 94 consistently... and who has hit 99 mph. Why would he need help?

Jeff S Analysis

Well, his velocity is anywhere from 90 mph to 97 mph, so he is inconsistent and has poor control. He was ready to give it all up because he said in all his years not one pitching instructor from college to pro ball has helped him. We showed him how to simplify his delivery...improve his arm action and use his height and entire body to more effortlessly throw harder with better control.

Here is what he said:

“I had a great experience with you and Ryan on Wed. I am still a little dumbfounded that figuring out my faults was not that difficult. I have been working on the adjustments that we went over and I already know that this Spring Training will be different than any other. I want others to know that getting the right kind of help can make a world of a difference.

I know that if I recieved the right help from the begining my baseball career would have taken a different path.

I have recieved constant advice with my pitching since high school, but no one has really been able to maximize my potential.

Thanks to you and Ryan I can't wait to show what I have and will continue to improve on my skills. Video Analysis is definitely the only way to break down mechanics. Thanks again and I will keep in touch. I'll shoot you an e-mail when I'm pitching during Spring Training.”

Jeff S.
27 year old six year pro wanting to make the big leagues

You'll also see a 6'3" 200 lb. D1 pitcher. When he came to us he was not using his lead arm to maximize his trunk rotation speed and his velocity.

Frank D Analysis

This is what his father Frank, a former pro pitcher, had to say:

“Hi Dick. First thing I would like to say is thank you. Frankie is doing great and his confidence is back!! I played professional base ball and coached travel teams and all I can say is that it's never too late to learn. We video every chance we can and his mechanics have improved along with his velocity and command. The instruction you and Ryan had given Frankie is priceless, wish we had done it sooner. It's never too late!! It was worth the trip.

Thanks again.”

Frank D.

You'll watch a 6'1" 175 high school senior lefty who came to us throwing 82-83 mph and within 4 days of leaving was hitting 87 mph at a top showcase...which helped him sign at a D1 and the academic school of his choice. Right now he is throwing 88 mph and knows he has 90 mph plus in him.

Tyler F Analysis

This is what his father Walter had to say:

Tyler was sitting on 81-83, topping out at 84.

We had a lesson with you at the end of June, on our way to some showcases in California. The two day lesson completely shifted Tyler’s approach to his mechanics. You guys got him to focus on getting to land more openly, and also worked on getting him to pivot more on his back foot before touching down. (Other things as well, but these were the focal points).

At the next showcase, just days after his lesson, he was gunned by the college coaches at 85-86. The phone started ringing immediately from the college coaches. There is no doubt in my mind or Tyler’s that the sudden increase in his velocity was directly attributable to the adjustments you guys provided

But he wasn’t finished. He kept working on his mechanics and I kept video-taping him. He went to two more showcases in late July and early August, and topped off at both of them at 87. One them was his dream school and the Head Coach made him an offer on the spot and he accepted two weeks later.

But he was not satisfied. (that is the key, isn’t it?) When I put him to my Juggs gun in the fall, he sat on 86 and 87, touching 88 a few times.”

Walter F.

You'll see a 6'5" 210 lb. top rated high school junior RH pitcher whose father was a big league pitcher and is now a full time pitching instructor. His fastball is normally 89-92 mph and in one recent game he hit 96 mph in 9 of 11 pitches.

Joey G Analysis

You will learn exactly what I told he and his father to do to improve his velocity where he would consistently hit 95 mph and above before he gets to college. He may be one of the top high school picks going into the 2012 draft.

Here is what his father Tony, a former major league pitcher and full time pitching instructor, had to say after they got my analysis:

“ Everything is going great with Joey. He has started bringing his hands down first then back up and his elbow is lifting nicely. He is working on his weight shift and is lowering his high leg kick. Front leg is bracing up better and he is getting further out over leg.

Pitched 2 innings in HS Alumni game...struck out current minor leaguer, one D-1, couple ground outs and no walks. His coach called me that evening and said whatever you did with him worked great. Joey looked awesome! Low effortless exploding fastball and in the strike zone!

I am adding video analysis to my lessons.”

Tony G.

You will also see a 21 year old college pitcher who just could not break the 89 mph barrier.

I showed him one thing about his back leg action that got him to 93 mph pretty quickly. And I told him he has 95 mph velocity in him right now.

This is what his father Harry said after the video analysis:

“In early January you did a video analysis for my son Harry Dunsford. He was topping out at 89mph and could not hit that 90 mph mark. We looked at the video together during Christmas break and discussed how much sense your analysis made.

Since he returned to college he has been working on the back foot problem you pointed out in spite of the fact he was not able to video. He called me the evening of Feb 13th to report he threw to live hitters and was clocked at 93 once and 91 twice.

Since he returned to college he has been working on the back foot problem you pointed out in spite of the fact he was not able to video. He called me the evening of Feb 13th to report he threw to live hitters and was clocked at 93 once and 91 twice.”

Harry D.

You'll not only learn from these 5 pitching success stories, you'll also be able to watch as I give 7 Little League Pitchers and 4 other High School pitchers advice on making the right adjustments to get the big improvements in their pitching they're looking for.

But there is more... much more.

You will see every imaginable hidden pitching fault and how we instruct the pitcher and his parent on how to fix them.

I'm so excited for this season and helping you and your son improve, I've also decided to throw in:

FREE BONUS #1: A Coaching Guide To Recognizing Mechanical Faults

A Coaching Guide To Recognizing Mechanical Faults is a 22 page booklet showing the 21 most common faults we see that reduce velocity and add stress to the arm.

Students are compared to major league pitchers.

Use this handy 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 booklet when you are going over video so you don't miss identifying the most common faults that we see regularly while doing our own video analysis.

This booklet also explains how to fix these faults in the shortest amount of time possible. Plus, it includes the key factors for quick improvement.

Use it with the Mechanics Checklist (Free Bonus #3) for maximum results!

FREE BONUS #2: 10 Written Video Analysis

You get 10 actual written video analysis sessions with freeze-frame photos.

Just like watching someone elses video analysis, reading the 10 written commentaries of different pitchers, all with different problems, will quickly increase your pitching knowledge of how to identify faults quickly and how to fix them.

Repetition is one of the most powerful ways to increase learning.

The six (6) freeze-frame photos from each video analysis also drive home the emphasis on proper body positioning that reduces velocity and control while adding stress to the pitcher's arm.

Once you complete reading and going over each of the 10 written analysis, you'll be armed with more knowledge of pitching mechanics than most coaches at even the professional levels. You too will be able to apply this knowledge right on the field to help any pitcher quickly improve.

FREE BONUS #3: Pitching Mechanics Checklist

Our Pitching Mechanics Checklist breaks everything down in an easy to follow format…

This is the same checklist Ryan and I use we when we do a video analysis for our private coaching clients.

When you do a video analysis after a session the key is to use tools that make it simple, but complete.

This simple Mechanics Checklist makes it easy to identify any faults while you're going through your video frame-by-frame by stopping the video at each point, then putting a check mark that indicates where there might be a problem. This becomes your guide on which faults to work on first. Always work on what occurs in the beginning since this will effect what occurs later.

Without an ongoing checklist you'll be lost trying to correct everything at once. Plus you can keep these checklists as a way to measure improvement from session to session, week to week or month to month.

This also provides the pitcher with the motivation to continue to do the work to improve, because they can see a list of things they need to work on and have a goal in sight.

So simply take each checklist, date it, and add it to a three-ring binder for future reference. Use this with the bonus booklet to get the most out of this incredible training.

And to make your decision a no-brainer, I have decided to back up everything I say with my...

1 YEAR No Questions Asked

When my wife found at what I was doing, she told me I must have fallen and bumped my head, because that’s less than $13 per lesson, PLUS the three FREE Bonuses.

You cannot get this type of specialized pitching instruction anywhere else on this planet at this price. But you must hurry, because this one-of-a-kind deal only lasts until the first 450 are sold.

You Basically Have Three Choices...

This could very well be one of those defining moments as a pitcher.

  1. You can continue doing what you are doing. As Einstein once said - "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." The longer you ignore finding and fixing those "hidden velocity leaking" faults, the faster other pitchers will fly right past you.

Not to sound too harsh - but can you really afford that?

  2. You can continue to try to figure things out on your own. Visit every discussion forum online and use a little of this or a little of that. Getting everybody's conflicting opinion is confusing...listening to this coach or that instructor or guru about how this drill or that strength program is the key to more velocity, even though you'll try them all and find that none of them work.

Or do nothing while your pitching stays mediocre or even gets worse, while you spend another season wasting more time, while getting closer to a possible injury because you don't correct the pitching faults you may not even realize you have. I just wonder how much time you will waste on popular practice activities that are all based on belief instead of research?

    OR

  3. You can achieve the knowledge you need right now from me and my son Ryan to gain mastery over your mechanics, and the only real key to maximizing your velocity.

Learn what it take to get that extra 5-7, maybe even 10 mph. You can discover exactly what I have learned over the past 6 years about why improved mechanics is the key to maximizing a pitcher's potential...not strength from long toss or the weight room.

Get yourself on the path to let your fastball do the talking, so you aren't like every other pitcher out there looking for some magic bullet when none exist.

The only magic bullet you need is The High Velocity Pitcher Video Analysis Series on DVD. This is a proven system that has helped hundreds of future pitchers live up to their full potential, and you only have until the first 450 DVD series are sold to take advantage of this offer!
