My friend’s 19 yr old son separated his shoulder recently after diving for a groundball (he is a pitcher but plays 2nd when not pitching). This is the second time he has suffered this type of injury this season. The first time was back in March. Does anyone know the best way to rehabilitate a separated shoulder? What type of exercises should he do or avoid?
This should be left up to a professional sports medicine physical therapist. They will want to do an assessment of the surrounding areas to make sure they too get strengthened properly.
Evidently it was not as bad as I thought because my friend’s son has already been cleared to play (he played Thursday and today).
