Hi all, I am the proud grandfather of two brothers, 14 and 9. I bought the DVDs in 2008 when the oldest decided he wanted to pitch. Their father pitched in a D1 program in college and was drafted by the Rangers but had a major arm problem at the end of his senior year and never played for them.
Needless to say. he never had the kind of help and teaching that Dick provides. We wanted the two boys to have more help then their father did and I think the information we gleaned from the videos has done wonders. I hoping that this forum will help even more. From reading the posts it’s easy to see that most of you have a better eye then I do for spotting areas that need work.
The video link below shows both boys side by side. The grandson on the left is 6’1/140 with a 74″ stride. He tops out a 80mph but is improving a little each month. One of my concerns is that his back leg may be bending too much. There may be other issues as well but I am not very good at the video analysis yet.
The younger boy has been pitching about a year and seems to have a better delivery. He tops out at 56 and has no problem throwing strikes. One of the problems we corrected since I took this videa is his going up on his tiptoe with his rear foot.
The video shows two deliveries at a little less than regular speed and one in slow motion. Any analysis you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
