Does anyone have any thougthts on how to get the body moving faster into landing from the starting postition? I’m working with an 8 year old and have used the little man pushing the back hip cue, but wanted to get others thoughts on this.
How is his weight shift? At this age, I would emphasize weight shift and moving sideways almost exclusively. As he begins to understand it, it will help his understanding of not collapsing the back leg. Make it fun.
I was going to post a video of his delivery, but have had problems getting the video to transfer from the v1 software that I have been using to videotape his delivery. Any suggestions would be helpful on how to post it from the v1 application.
By no means do I believe that he has mastered all the above mentioned, we have worked very hard on a long delivery, late hand break and at this time moving aggressive into a braced front leg so his body is generating the power. My main concern at this time is at landing his head is out over his front knee and not centered, I will try to get a posting of this on here which will better illustrate.
I got it figured out for anyone else that is using the v1 golf app to do your videotaping,. you must use your cam from the device that you are using and import it to v1 application. If you capture it while using the application it will only allow you to upload it to their library and not youtube.
Since all of the video at this time has been captured using the application I will have something posted this weekend just using the device camera that allows posting to youtube.
Plus if you are using the android application for the v1 golf there is now a baseball application on the market for $9.99 It seems to do the same thing that the v1 golf did but allows you to upload your videos to a baseball instructor instead of golf….fyi
Why do you want to speed him up? Are you saying he has a short stride? If his stride is short from moving too slow then put a line at his height and discuss how he can get out to that line by stepping out more aggressively. What does he say?
Are you suggesting that this 8 year old has excellent upper and lower body mechanics? Good arm action? Lead arm? Good back leg and front leg? Good landing position?
Is he ready to move faster?
Why don’t you post a video?
