Alright thanks for the feedback. So basically just trunk lean forward and counteration.
How is my lower body mechanics?
Am I completing leg drive and rotating lead foot at the right time?
Am I bracing lead leg soon enough?
Ill will post back view by weekend.
Ya I think I know who you are talking about, the guy who struck out the side in the all star game right. If so then yes, he has no follow through. Always a good idea to really follow through your pitches, gives your arm more time and space to slow down. Jake peavy also does this looks very stressfull especially when your throwing as hard as they are.
Does it make sense to you?
If so work on it and see how it goes, I don’t think this problem has to do with your type of landing, more likely to be just lack of awareness and feel for getting into that position.
Should be an easy fix as its the last component of the delivery.
So when would you recommend that a pitcher throw bullpens of 200-400 pitches? Hopefully that amount is not just for momentum pitchers.
Can you post a video?
Like Dick always says, without video we are all just guessing.
Best of luck
Did you get any radar reading before and after. I would imagine it would be substantially different.
Funny story, I brought out my gun a week or so ago and it was hitting me at 72-74, which isn’t right because i used to hit 77-79 on that same gun over a year ago. Its broke it would randomly flash numbers like 95 when i didn’t even throw or in between pitches. Getting a new one, any recomendations?
What about ball control? What are you doing to perfect that? Are you seeing improvements?
Im seeing dramatic improvements in general control or ability to hit the strike zone, but i will continue to improve on hitting specific spots, by throwing same pitch, same location over and over.
How many throwing sessions per week right now and when does your season start?
2-3 a week not including games on the weekend. I wish i could throw my long pens at practice but coach only lets us throw small pens 20-40 random bullpens. Seems like he belives in the same your arm theory.
What pitches are you working on perfecting?
Fastball and Forkball, I’ve started to work on a change up though.
I wouldn’t focus so much of heel or toe as i would the idea of a “whole foot push off.”
Do you know what that looks like?
Have you studied pitchers with good back leg drive?
Have you imagined yourself as one of these pitchers to get a feel for what you are doing?
It all about trial and error in the search of what feels and looks good for you. Go out and struggle its a process be patient it will come.
Best of luck
“To get weight shift, are you loading your weight or getting your head over the back leg prior to making your first movement?”
Yes loading back leg before moving off the back leg….. hopefully going to get faster at this.
“I??….m wondering if you could get better rhythem if you started with your hands high on your chest instead of at the belt. It would also help with the arm swing. Have you ever tried that?”
Agreed, originaly started with a low leg lift so thats why my hands are low for rhythem, but apparently as i focused on moving of the back leg quicker leg lift went away. So ill give it a try, hopefully later arm action and smoother delivery…. sounds pretty good lol thanks.
Anyone have any comments on my lower body mechnanics.
