<p>Guys,</p> <p>This will show you why Matt Harvey created additional stress to his elbow. His main problem is he had just too much extension of his arm. I talked to Angel Borelli last week and Angel felt that Harvey’s arm is out of the range of acceptable based on ASMI’s biomechanical research.</p> <p>Thus, because the arm is too long at touchdown and landing, the elbow is stressed as the arm tries to shorten before trunk rotation and as the arm lays beck into maximum external rotation prior to elbow extension and ball release.</p> <p>Unfortunately, I had not seen a side angle of Harvey before I did some analysis of his back view…which is far more difficult to see than from the side. </p> <p>Let me know if you have any questions.</p> <p>Coach Mills</p> <p>[video]https://vimeo.com/74016334[/video]</p>
