10000 hours of practicing the right way, like dick said, not just any old type of practice. People can practice all day and night but if there not practicing the right way they probably wont see any improvement, which happened to me freshman and sophmore year with hitting. Joe
Scott, You get more velocity out of better timing then you do speed of movement, right?
Coach Mills, do you still have any of your curveball dvds still available? thanks Joe
Scott, yes i will be a senior. I am thinking about going to a showcase on august 8th or 9th but I fear that I wont be developed in time and/or not make any improvements from now. I have no command and not great offspeed stuff and my velocity is only low 80’s(and im not even sure of that, either) so would it be better to wait a year to develop and then go to the showcase next year? thanks for your help Joe
thanks guys Brad, thats a great story about Heston. I am happy for the both of you, as well as Scott and Mike. Has Heston and Mike always been hard throwers and so talented, or do they work at it a lot?
Scott, is it too late to go to showcases as a senior?
Tom, do you have any videos of Joel Zumaya?
is a circle change a good changeup to throw and one that sinks? and how do you get movement on the two seamer because I have the right grip for it and stuff and put pressure on the finger but it doesnt move somehow. thanks Joe
Tom, that is an awesome video. Im gonna study that alot and it helps tremendously. thanks for posting it. Joe
Alec, Looks good. How hard do you throw?
Coach Mills, exactly how far does the hip have to move away from the rubber before hand break for proper weight shift to occur? Is it different for everyone? I notice that at the start from the stretch my hip moves out decently far before my hands break but then my hip gets to a point where it doesnt move out any farther(my body drops down at this point and my hands and head lower but my hip doesnt move any farther). But this dropping down occurs after my hips are moving out. Is this wrong? thanks Joe
Thanks alot Tom and Tom, my hard work is finally starting to pay off. I am working hard now as always, but I know I need to work even harder. Starting June 23, (my last exam date) I will be working harder than ever. Thanks for the support and encouragement. Joe
Coach Mills, is there any audio on your videos (such as the josh bard one) where you show what he does well? I only hear like white noise or whatever when I watched that video and a couple others and I dont know if its because my computer or what? I would really like to hear what your saying in this videos because its so crucial to success thanks Joe
He looks great. He is extremely explosive and moves fast. He is gonna be great. Keep working on mechanics and such to improve.
Stu, can you describe a handstand pushup? I do not know what they are and want to try them. and Coach Mills, can you do the workout after your bullpens, like say 3 hours later? thanks all Joe
