Along the same lines, my 11 year old team is melting down. 11 of our 12 kids pitch, and I can count on four of them. I’ve been coaching them in Mills manner, explosive, long stride, teaching backwards, bullpen sessions and videotaping that has been an outstanding tool. I agree if you’re not videotaping, you’re just guessing.
I can’t post videos of all of them, but we seem to play the same game every day. A starting pitcher will give 2-3 good innings, the next pitchers will get through a single inning then implode in the middle of their second inning, unable to throw a strike, everything high and outside to a right hand batter. I bring in a new pitcher who gets out of the inning, then implodes in his next. Two games in a row, up three runs in the last inning, we’ve gotten 2 quick outs, then walked the bases full followed by a three run hit. I’ll try this simple pitching strategy, but I’m open to anything.
